From New Zealand

Since the dragon festival I have have bursts (of 1hr +) of a ping of 5-10k making the game totally unplayable at times.

Fine while in outpost but soon as i enter pvp I got the huge ping. Hasnt happened tonight though. Occurred 4/6 of the previous days so far.

300-500 ping down here in Melbourne.

I used to play on Euro and I was around 1000, but changed to US which ran much more smoothly... I'm with Telstra ADSL and I get a bit of lag, and a bit of rubberbanding. It's really bad some days, but mostly it runs ok. That said, when I play on my boyfriend's computer (through cable rather than phone) it's the same amount of lag, but less rubberbanding...

GW has also randomly restarted my computer about 7 times...

Frag, I have to ask. How "great" is the ADSL2 package. I'm currently with iiNet and was previously with optus. I couldn't see anything about ADSL2 on the optus page.

Melbourne suburban. American servers.

I've been getting lagspikes loads (1.5mbps). Being reduced to dialup through shaped internet cap doesn't make it worse though.

I normally play on about 600ping (which is fine, no lag at all, GW lagmeter is wrong, I don't care what you think of it), but in the past 2-3 months I've been hitting 1000s irregularly. Dragon Festival week was quite unplayable, I'd lag out for 5-10 minutes at a time randomly.

I'm in LA atm, but while I was in Sydney I didn't have any serious lag problems. Never had great pings, but it was good enough. I had a few problems with my wireless network but that's a separate issue.

By the way, if any of you feel it is unfair that Australians and New Zealanders are being charged an inflated price for buying GW:EN over the online store, please feel free to comment here.

Melbourne with cable and I've been experiencing some lag spikes every now and then though it has mostly been playable. I had a few 1k today

There was a time a few days ago where my lag reached 20k+

Australia plays on the Europe servers and there was a terrible problem at the time of the OP's original post, which has since been resolved. Glad your ping was so low, mine was 20,000 at one stage.

Melbourne, 56k dialup.

Rarely had trouble with lag until NF came out. Since then I've had REALLY bad spells of it. Sometimes it's just unplayable.

Sorry to have to say this, but can you please resist posting if your subject matter is unrelated to the topic. I know it will seem harsh but cyberjanet's post was ignorant and baseless.

I use the word ignorant meaning uneducated or unsupported by knowledge.

1) Yes Australians are defaulted to Euro servers, But myself and a large percent of Aussies/Nzer have jumped to the american servers.

2) It was unrelated to the Euro server problem (We don't even route thru there), and only got worse after the fix.

I'm just praying its an GWEN update issue and will disappear soon enough. Can't play till later but if it has improved I'll post a notice.

By the way to try fixing the problem I did the step suggested in the Tech forum of this site. Sadly it didn't help. But it might help others

Yes, we are defaulted to the Euro servers. Only because we are handled by NcSoft Europe. It was actually recommended by a CR rep (I can't remember who) way back at Prophecies release that Australians transfer to the US servers, simply because Australians get a better ping on them.

Forget my previous report of maximum 3k ping....

Its now gotten to a stage where i log into an outpost, take a few steps, and the game grinds to a halt. Ive not done a check of the hubs i get my service through (I'm assuming I'm in the same boat as the OP; QLD here too)

Im on Telstra btw... Shocking service.

Brisbane here.

It plays fine most of the time with orange/green ping and no lag but I do get occasional lag spikes, however I suspect that this is because of my internet connection which is a college internet connection and is shared between all of the colleges at the uni.

Are you getting lag in other games? If not, it's unlikely it's Telstra. I know I'm not having any problems with them anymore. There's a lot of connections between you and Arenanets severs.
